Updraft was founded with the goal of granting young entrepreneurs valuable experience in running a small business and a financial launch pad for their future careers. With a proven business model, organizational support, training, and capital, Updraft can de-risk for entrepreneurs the process of starting their first business.
How we do it
Ethan Carlson is the Founder and CEO of Updraft. He spends his work days overseeing product development, organization building, and business development. Previously, Ethan founded Escape Rhode Island, LLC, the first Escape Room venue in Providence. After graduating from Yale University with a degree in mechanical engineering Ethan joined Venture for America's first Fellowship class of 2012.
Domenic Merolla is the COO of Updraft. Dom supports Ethan in building Updraft, as well as develops operational processes and implementation techniques for subsidiary companies. He has worked with young entrepreneurs in a variety of roles at Venture for America and 1776 Global. Dom is a 2016 Venture for America Fellow and a graduate of Hobart College.
